Transportation

Public transportation is extremely limited in many North Texas communities. The Veterans Center of North Texas works nonprofits, private organizations and the VA to provide limited transportation to Veterans. The VA provides free transportation between the Dallas and Bonham medical facilities for medical patients. The Veterans Center of North Texas is working with the VA to expand this service to area Community Based Outpatient Clinics *CBOCs). The Veterans Center of North Texas has arrangements with several local auto repair shops to provide car repairs to Veterans at reduced costs. We may be able to provide gas money for Veterans facing emergency situations.

"The Veterans Center of North Texas referred me to a auto mechanic who gave me an honest appraisal for repairing my car. One of their volunteers is car savvy and reviewed the estimate to ensure it didn't include any unneeded work. They then found an organization that gave me the money to make the repairs. Thanks to them, I am able to get back to work." - Melissa K.

"The Veterans Center of North Texas connected me with a veterans group that provides transportation to veterans needing to get to their medical appointment. Thanks to their help I was able to get to my Choice appointment." - Harry M.
